About The Book/DVD

Respected authors, educators and keynote speakers Andrew Churches, Lee Crockett and Ian Jukes cook up a tasty treat in the brand new "Digital Diet". Their unwavering commitment to inspiration and innovation in today's classrooms continues with this addition to the 21st Century Fluency Series, dedicated to making learning relevant to life in the 21st Century.

Understanding the technology-driven world we and our students live in today can be a daunting process for the newcomer. To make it both easy and engaging, the authors invite you to try a "Digital Diet", in which you'll experience the tantalizing buffet of digitized fare that is commonly used in our everyday lives. Over the course of this book and DVD, you are encouraged to sample the delights of each chapter at your own pace, so that you truly come to appreciate the dishes served up in this scrumptious multi-course educational menu.

Within are all the main ingredients used in our recipes for working, playing, learning and interacting in a largely online society. It includes topics on blogs, wikis, online video, search engines, media sharing, the social networking of Facebook and Twitter, and so much more. In addition to an entertaining overview of all these wonderful techno-bites, "Digital Diet" offers concise guidance for users of all skill levels, from beginner to more advanced. It also demonstrates how effectively these tools can be incorporated into the classroom environment, in order to foster an enjoyable and productive learning experience for teachers and students alike.

"Digital Diet" is a must-have for any collection of educational cookbooks. It provides a great frame of reference for the most common and popular technologies that allow teachers, trainers, business people and others to explore and become adept in using, sharing and collaborating in the 21st Century. It's for anyone wanting to relate to today's digital generation, or just be in-the-know about the various kinds of digital delicacies we enjoy in everyday 21st Century life.
